Summer School at CEBAS-CSIC

PhenolAcTwin (#951994) is an EU-funded H2020 project aimed at enhancing the research and innovation capacity of TUBITAK MRC Food Institute on dietary polyphenols. At the scientific level, this project is focused on the identification of dietary polyphenols at the molecular level, bioavailability as well as study of their biological activity (i.e., in vivo-in vitro).

CEBAS-CSIC is included in the network of this project (together with other leading research centers of INRAE in France and QIB in UK) as one of the epicenters in polyphenols investigation. Hitherto, the members of the Food and Health lab have contributed with numerous activities to achieve the main objectives of the PhenolAcTwin project.

Within the Work Package (WP)2 of the PhenolAcTwin project entitled Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacity of Young ScientistCEBAS-CSIC hosted a summer school coordinated by Dr. Antonio González-Sarrías (WP2 Leader), Dr. Rocío García-Villalba, and Dr. Juan Antonio Giménez-Bastida

This summer school sought to create new relationships, networking and enhance the research and innovation capacity of young scientist in the field of food science and technology. Interesting oral presentations included diverse scientific approaches to provide
a golbal view about bioavailability, metabolism and bioactivity of dietary phenolic compounds.

Oral presentations

Besides, carefully designed hands-on activities allowed the young scientits attending the summer school to learn new techniques and see how the concepts explained in the oral presentations are applied in the laboratory.

Hands-on activities

Interested in the agenda of the summer school? No problem, just download the program with the title of the oral presentations and the activities by clicking on this summer school link. This is an excellent opportunity for the young scientist to participate in activities within the PolyBiota project.
