The Marie-Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) are the reference program in responding to the needs of the scientific community in Europe for doctoral education and postdoctoral training. In this regard, researchers who previously were awarded with a MSCA-Individual Fellowship (IF) show higher success rates in the ERC calls. CSIC does not remain aloof to this situation and has launched an internal call intended to extend the MSCA-IF projects for 18 months. This strategy that supports talent attraction and retention at CSIC will allow the researchers to work on the preparation of proposals for ERC grants.
The Research Committee that evaluated the proposal submitted to the CSIC's internal call decided to extend the PolyBiota project for 18 months. The results obtained during this period will set the basis of an ERC grant, which will be submitted in 2023. A successful ERC grant would be a testament of the outstanding work carried out within the PolyBiota project.
